The distillery drawn by Hans-Joachim Uthke

For the first time, Hans-Joachim Uthke's drawings will be presented at the place where they were created.

After seven years of standstill, the Vogelsang distillery was listed as an industrial monument in 1986.

Soon afterwards, the city of Hilden and the Rhineland Regional Association were to begin restoration work.

Hilden artist Hans-Joachim Uthke used the time of the "status quo" to capture irretrievable impressions with his pencil for the museum and local history association.

It was particularly the little things on the periphery of the production process that created a fascinating atmosphere in the old brick building during its "retirement"." Ulrike Unger
