Rent index

In the coming days, some randomly selected landlords in Hilden will receive mail from "Neitzel Consultants GmbH" from Witten. The city of Hilden has commissioned this company to collect data and compile the rent index.

The purpose of the survey is to create a reliable and representative data basis for drawing up a rent index for Hilden. A rent index is an important instrument for the objective assessment of rents. It reflects the local comparative rent in privately financed housing and ensures transparency, reliability and legal certainty for all parties involved in the rental housing market.

Information on the survey

Data is collected online in a modern and environmentally friendly way. All respondents will receive a link to the online form and a personal access code with their letter. Those who prefer to complete the survey in writing can alternatively request a paper questionnaire.

Participation is pseudonymized so that personal data and details are stored separately. The collection and processing of data is subject to strict data protection guidelines.

The creation of the rent index is accompanied by a rent index working group, in which tenant and landlord interest groups are represented alongside the City of Hilden.

  • What is the survey about?

The city of Hilden is legally obliged to produce a rent index. Such a rent index offers many advantages to both tenants and landlords. It creates transparency and ensures reliability on the rental housing market and the fairest possible balance between the interests of tenants and landlords.

The respondents were selected at random and the rent index is compiled on a scientific basis. It is based on a representative survey of the rent agreed in tenancies. The respondents' answers make a decisive contribution to creating a representative and well-founded data basis for the compilation of the Hilden rent index 2025. This is because the more responses on rental apartments in Hilden are available for evaluation, the more accurately the "local comparative rent" can be determined.

Respondents' data and details are treated in strict confidence in accordance with data protection regulations. The responses received are statistically analyzed pseudonymously by the consulting firm Neitzel Consultants, Witten(www.neitzel-consultants.de).

  • Why do some of the landlords surveyed receive several letters?
