Mayor
Claus Pommer has been Mayor of Hilden since 01.11.2020. He received around 62% of the vote in the first round of the 2020 local elections.
As full-time mayor, Claus Pommer has a dual function. In addition to his function as chairman of the council and thus the highest political representative, he is also head of the city administration. In this capacity, he is the supervisor of the employees of the city of Hilden and chairman of the administrative board.
He manages and distributes the business of the current administration, prepares the decisions of the Council and carries them out under the control of the Council and in responsibility to it. In legal and administrative matters, he is the legal representative of the municipality and the supervisor of the civil servants and pay-scale employees working in the administration.

Claus Pommer was born in 1969 in Hilden, where he lives and works. He is married and has three sons.

Incidental income of the mayor
As a measure to prevent corruption, the main administrative official (for Hilden: the mayor) is obliged under the North Rhine-Westphalia Anti-Corruption Act(Korruptionsbekämpfungsgesetz) to provide the Council with information on his or her additional income once a year.
