CITY CYCLING

From May 17 to June 6, 2026, the motto in Hilden is once again: Get on your bike and let's go! The city is once again taking part in the nationwide CITY CYCLING campaign and is calling on all citizens, businesses, schools and clubs to take part.

Under the motto "Cycling for a good climate", the aim is to cycle as much as possible in everyday life and thus actively contribute to climate protection. Whether on the way to work, school, shopping or in your free time - every kilometer cycled counts.

CITY CYCLING thrives on the idea of community: anyone who lives, works, goes to school or belongs to a club in Hilden can take part. The aim is not only to collect as many kilometers as possible, but also to raise awareness of sustainable mobility.

Set an example together - and break the record!

An impressive 156,458 kilometers were cycled last year. We want to beat this result together in 2026!

  • Climate Alliance

    The city of Hilden has been a member of the Climate Alliance for many years, which organizes the worldwide CITY CYCLING campaign. The aim is to avoid CO₂ emissions by cycling and to draw attention to the importance of safe and well-developed cycle paths. The collected trip data - recorded anonymously via an app - is incorporated into a scientific evaluation by TU Dresden and helps to improve the local cycling infrastructure in a targeted manner.
