"BlockiT" bicycle coding campaign at the Hilden weekly market
The crime prevention department of the Mettmann district police is offering a free bicycle coding campaign. Registration is not required.
Interested bike owners can have their bikes marked on site and thus effectively protect them against theft. As part of the "BlockiT" campaign, bicycles are given a particularly resistant sticker and are recorded in a police database using an individual identification number.
For coding, you should bring the bike, a valid identity card or other ID document with a photo and - if available - proof of purchase and technical documents. It is also helpful to locate the frame number of the bike in advance.
Independently of the campaign at the weekly market, bicycles can also be coded at the crime prevention department at Hilden police station (phone 02104 982-7777) by making an appointment in advance.
