Hilden's Current Industrial Sector in the West

The oldest commercial and industrial area is the West Industrial Park on the city limits with Düsseldorf. It was developed on the former industrial brownfield site of Mannesmann Röhrenwerke. The revitalization of the area between Hülsenstraße and Düsseldorfer Straße laid the foundation for successfully navigating the economic structural changes of the 1980s. Today, the number of employees working on the site is roughly the same as it was during the Mannesmann era.
