Youth and recreational facilities

Just hanging out, meeting friends, rock music, disco, games, creative activities, and, and, and... There is always something going on in the youth and leisure facilities of the city of Hilden and everyone is welcome. If you have any questions, please contact us: 02103 724033

  • Area 51

In the Nevada desert (USA), the legendary Area 51 is a restricted military area where aliens are said to have once landed. In Hilden, Area 51 is a small cosmos for young people, cabaret, concerts and other events where visitors can leave their own planet behind for a few hours. The city of Hilden created the location in 2003 as a successor to the legendary Kleefer Hof youth center. The motif of aliens as cultural ambassadors became a trademark: intergalactic creatures adorn a signboard and several works of art. Posters of science fiction classics such as "Star Wars" and "Alien" hang in the foyer.

    Open door for teenagers

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 15:00 - 20:00, young people aged 12 - 27 can meet in Area 51 in a relaxed atmosphere, chill out, "hang out", play pool or table football. On Mondays the focus is on creative activities, on Tuesdays there is a movie and games program and Wednesdays are dedicated to cooking together.

    Rehearsal room

Young bands can rent one of two rehearsal rooms at Area 51 by the hour to jam and rock out.

    Exercise program

Every Wednesday from 15:00 to 18:30, we invite children up to the age of 14 and their families to take part in a variety of activities and games. In addition to play equipment, a hands-on circus with juggling and swinging cloth games provides a real circus atmosphere.
From mid-October, the activities take place in the Area51 rooms due to the weather - then without the bouncy castle and fun cars.

  • Campus OT

Since 2015, there has been a youth club called "Campus OT" in the schoolyard of the Marie-Colinet secondary school. The abbreviation "OT" stands for "Open Door". Our distinctive sign is the bus stop sign in the schoolyard with "Campus OT" written in large letters.

The modern, well-equipped room provides space for a wide range of activities for children and young people. Creative, sports and intercultural cooking activities take place during opening hours.

We want to experience many nice things together, e.g. make excursions, arrange a cinema evening, play or also become artistically active. We also have a kitchen at our disposal to cook or bake something.

Our opening hours (during school hours) are as follows:
    Monday: 3:00 - 7:00 pm
    Tuesday: 3:00 - 7:00 pm
    Thursday: 3:00 - 7:00 pm
    Friday: 2:00 - 6:00 pm

  • Youth club at the willow path

Following the successful reopening of the youth club on Weidenweg, the team is now looking forward to welcoming children aged 8 to 14 back on a regular basis.

    Opening hours
The club is open from Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
During this time, there are open activities such as arts and crafts, cooking and games.

What exactly is on the program is decided spontaneously and together with the children - so there is room for co-determination, creativity and lots of fun.

The newly designed meeting place offers a safe, open and friendly environment for leisure activities, encounters and joint activities.

    Activity program
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 18:30 - the area in front of the JaW (Weidenweg 21) becomes a big activity paradise. Table tennis, Jakkolo, XXL four-in-a-row, trampoline, spinning tops or can stilts provide variety, plus the popular fun cars and the bouncy castle (with support during assembly and dismantling).
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we move to the sports hall on Weidenweg - please bring indoor shoes!
All children up to the age of 14 and their families are cordially invited.
