From the perspective of educational professionals, working with children, young people and their parents is thematically diverse and exciting, but can also be very challenging at times.

  • What questions and topics can we help you with?

    In the following, we would like to give you some examples of the questions and topics for which you can receive advice and support from us:

    • for questions about the behavior and development of children and adolescents
    • if you are looking for specialist advice and supervision
    • if you want to prepare for challenging conversations with parents
    • if you are thinking about how you can connect parents with their children with us
    • if you need support with parents' evenings or further training on educational issues, developmental or school psychology topics, sexualized violence or prevention services

  • Target groups: Who can we advise?

    We advise and support all professionals in the context of schools (management, teachers, support teachers, OGS staff) and daycare centers (management, educators) who work in Hilden and Haan.

    We are also regularly on site with open consultation hours in family centers and daycare centers. Usually in the form of advice for parents. However, advice for professionals is also possible by arrangement.

    As a general rule, we are happy to advise you in person on site, at our advice center or by telephone. For case-related issues where the parents responsible have not given their consent, advice is provided anonymously.

  • Special offers from the advice center

    1. prevention center: We also offer prevention and project work in daycare centres and schools to empower children and protect them from sexualized violence.


    2. specialized counselling on sexualized violence against children and adolescents:

    • If you have questions about how you can help children or young people who have experienced sexualized violence.
    • if you have questions about children and young people who are sexually abusive.
    • if you suspect that a child or young person has experienced sexualized violence.

  • What if the professionals we work with need advice for their own family?

    If you want to be advised as a parent and at the same time are a teacher or educator in Hilden or Haan schools, daycare centers, etc., we have to keep your private concerns and our professional cooperation separate. You can find out how we can solve this over the phone or we can discuss it together during your first consultation. If necessary, we can also put you in touch with someone else.
