Babies and toddlers
Babies and small children sweat less than adults. At the same time, they move around a lot and do not perceive heat as a risk. The younger a child is, the more sensitive it is to heat. They therefore need to be protected from overheating. Children should be kept in cool rooms and places in the shade, especially during the hottest periods at midday and in the afternoon. Give them something to drink regularly and food containing water, such as a piece of apple or watermelon. Water games or a paddling pool will cool them down.
Never leave children alone in the car. Children can quickly overheat as the car heats up.
